| INTERREGIONAL INTERPRETERS BANK |
||
| Since 1993, the Interregional Interpreters Bank’s mission has been to facilitate access to health and social services for people from various cultural communities who do not have enough command of French or English to obtain appropriate services. To this end, the Bank serves as coordinator for some 100 interpreters and translators — all of them self-employed — working in languages as diverse as Tamil, Turkish, Khmer and Russian. The Interregional Interpreters Bank also serves the deaf anglophone population through American Sign Language (ASL).
