Context
Building neighbourhoods that are conducive to good health
To improve the quality of life of Montrealers, the Direction de santé publique of the Agence de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal, in partnership with the Ville de Montréal, has initiated the Quartiers 21 programme.
Quartiers 21 provides financial support to projects that foster sustainable development.
Did you know?
- Depending on the needs of the local community, Quartiers 21 projects can work on a range of issues, including active and safe transportation, greening, community gardens, social housing surrounded by neighbourhood services and green spaces, etc.
- Quartiers 21 projects seek to involve residents and mobilize local business and community leaders in actions that address their neighbourhood's environmental, social and economic issues.
- Sixteen projects were funded between 2005 and 2010.
