Bereavement or significant loss

Bereavement or significant loss

Are you grieving or do you want to help someone who is mourning a death?

Are you going through a separation or divorce?

Have you learned that your child is suffering from a chronic disease or disability?

Your CSSS can help.

The workers at your CSSS are there to help you if you are struggling to get over a significant loss or would like to help someone else who is.

The psychologists, social workers, specialized educators or nurses at your CSSS can provide you with support and follow-up, individually or in a group.

You can make an appointment with your CSSS’s reception, evaluation and referral department or, in an emergency, you can go straight to your CSSS without an appointment.

At your first meeting, a case worker will discuss your situation with you, and depending on your needs, will direct you to the appropriate resource.

If your request is referred to one of the CSSS's programmes, you will be contacted to set up an appointment. The first sessions will be devoted to defining your needs, the objectives of your follow-up and the means to achieve them.

If you are referred to another resource in the community, the worker will help you take the necessary steps.
