Spousal violence

Spousal violence

Are you a victim of spousal violence or do you know someone else who is?

Do you ever find yourself:

  • feeling that your partner is watching every movement you make?
  • feeling guilty about your partner's frequent bouts of sulkiness?
  • being insulted or humiliated?
  • being threatened with death?
  • being hit?
  • being harassed by your partner or ex-partner over the phone, on the street or at work?
  • being forced to have sex with your partner?
  • being deprived of money to meet your needs or those of your children?

Violence can take several forms. It can be verbal, physical, sexual or financial.

In partnership with other resources in the community, the CSSSs offer a variety of services to victims of spousal violence and to children who witness spousal violence.
