What is a health and social service centre?

Health and social service centres (CSSSs) bring together the CLSCs, public residential centres (CHSLDs) and, in certain cases, the general and specialized care hospitals in their territory.

Their mission is to:

  • help you obtain the health and social services you need as soon as possible;
  • offer high-quality services to their users, including the residents of their residential and long-term care centres;
  • encourage you to adopt a healthy lifestyle; and
  • contribute, with their local and regional partners, to the improvement of public health within their territory.
