Youth Centres
What is a youth centre?
A Youth Centre, also known as a Child and Youth Protection Centre (CPEJ) is a rehabilitation centre for young people.
The range of services provided by Youth Centres includes:
- psychosocial services (psychologists, psychoeducators, social workers, etc.);
- social emergency interventions when required (under the Youth Protection Act and the Youth Criminal Justice Act); and
- child placement, family mediation and expertise before the Superior Court on matters such as child custody, adoption and biological history.
